Big girl bed

Thursday was our first full day of being on break!  We spent time cleaning and prepping for Avery's up coming birthday party.  The kids still had time to have some fun in between the rain showers they hit the driveway to rollerblade.

Avery is our only child to master getting out of the crib and a pak'n play so we took down the crib-by we I mean I had Austin do it.  Then put together a toddler bed for her.

She loved it then, hated it,

but in the end she is doing great in it.

Will be a little dicey when she learns how to maneuver the doorknob to get out of her room, but until then it is working pretty good.

Kendall's last week of School 2010

We finally made it to the last day of school for Kendall and myself! I worked Monday and Tuesday and then Wednesday Kendall was dismissed at 11:10am.  Monday Kendall had an assembly were she was given an AR (Accelerator Reader) Award.  I am so proud of her she has read over 80 books this year- that she could take AR tests for she has actually read more than 80, but I am just amazed at how she loves reading and how she has taken off!

Sorry the pics are dark, bad lighting in the gym and I was in my classroom teaching, so I asked a staff member to take them for me- better than nothing :0)

Tuesday, Kendall had field day.  The weather was yucky and cold, but the kids still had a great time! Again I was working so only got one picture.

The last day of school there was an all school assembly.  Kendall's class sang "I am bring home a baby bumble bee"  The Fisher/Brown DHH class signed the song "You've got a friend in me"  All the classes performed something and the staff all preformed surfing USA.
It was a great way to end the year! Austin showed up at 11:30 to help clean out my classroom, turned in my keys and we are officially on break- for me that will be an extended on as I will be staying home next year, but Kendall will head to Firgrove in the fall.  Thanks to Lakeland and Mrs. Redman for a wonderful year!

Birthdays, Bridal Shower and Bachelorette- Oh My

The second weekend in June was quite busy to say the least!  After Logan's last day of school potluck we heading to the Grandparent's house to celebrate Grandma Fisher and Chris' birthdays.  I didn't take very many pictures I think I was wiped out from the potluck.  Saturday was Xander's birthday party and Jacqui's Bridal Shower/Bachlorette party.  Austin took the kids to Xander's party while I worked on the appetizers and then headed to Seattle for the events.  The kids had a great time at Xander's party, they toured a fire station, the weather was great and Josh made a really cool fire truck cake!  On Sunday we skipped church to head to the Earle's for Bryson's birthday party.  The weather was nice again and the kids played in the pool and bounce house.  It was great to see everyone and share in such great milestones!

Logan's last day of pre-school

Friday, June 11th was Logan's last day of preschool!  He is off to Kindergarten next year!  He will still go to Kindergarten at St. Nicholas Montessori, so no change there, but another year down.  We are so lucky to have such wonderful teachers working with him, he loves going to school everyday and I know he is getting the best experiences ever!

Walls are up

In our quest to get the yard finished Austin worked hard the first weekend in June. We had planned on doing it sooner, but between Home Depot delivery the wrong blocks and the rain we had no choice but to get it done and thankfully it happened! The stairs are a little short feeling so we might redo them at some point, but for now bring on the fence!

Sooooo many blocks

Getting started

Almost done

Finally done-YEAH!

Can you can........

Can you can? I can now thanks to my Ball sponsored house party! The first weekend in June I was picked to give a house party!  For those who don't know about house party go to http://www.houseparty.com/ to find out more. Basically a company sends the host a bunch of goodies so they will have a party and everyone will try the product! I received an amazing box filled with wonderful goodies.  Kim and Jessica came and we ended up canning 18 jars of salsa and 6 jars of pepper jelly.  It was great and I am confident no one will get botulism from what I canned! I am really excited now for my garden to come in and can some more in the fall!

Here are the goodies I was sent! Love the canner!
The kids even watched for a little bit

Heading to Firgrove Co-op

Kendall has been on the waiting list this school year, in hopes of getting into the Co-op. Well thankfully she is in for her second grade year! This is a huge relief for both of us. She has done great this year in Federal Way with Mrs. Redman, and I would love for her to stay at Lakeland, but since I won't be working next year she will need to come to her home district- Puyallup. So, that would of meant making all new friends at our home school of Woodland.

Going to Firgrove means she will be in the same school as a little girl she went to daycare with-Ella Jones, and two of the Kowolchuk's, not to mention we meet her teacher and several kids in her class at the BBQ held Friday night. She will also be in the same class as a little boy who is on Logan's T-ball team too!

I have heard nothing but amazing things of her teacher for next year, am really excited about the Co-op philosophy and the opportunities to volunteer, so we are looking forward to next school year with a little less anxiety. Not that it will be easy to say goodbye to Lakeland and the wonderful people and friends we have made, but at least we know where she is heading and Logan and Avery too, since all the siblings get in automatically! We are looking forward to a great school year, now we just have to finish up this one!

A WET Memorial Weekend

For the Memorial Weekend we packed up the trailor and headed to Mossyrock, Wa.  It is one of our favorite places to camp! We were joined by the Earle's, Marcele's, Kowalchuk's and Cypher's.  The kids had a great time playing together, fishing, riding their scooters, and even watching movies when it was really bad outside.  It was nice to see everyone and enjoy a long weekend.
