Banks Lake 09

We ended July with our camping trip to Steamboat Rock Park by Coulee Dam. It was quite the adventure for all! We planned the trip back in October with the Earle's, Cypher's and Arnold's. Steamboat rock is such a popular park you have to book it in October and we didn't have sites all together. The Earle's and Cypher's were close to each other and then Steph and us were next to each other. All in all we really had a great time, unfortunately not all our friends would say the same. I do have to say the mosquitos and weather were by far the strangest this trip, but we still had fun. We spent most of our time on a beach we would boat to, we headed to the "Dam" store about every other day for homemade ice-cream and had lots of fun on the tubes behind the boat! The kids loved jumping off "Turtle Rock" and hanging out with our friends when we had a chance. It was actually nicer to sleep in the air conditioner of our trailer than it would of been at home in the 100+ heat!

10 Years together

It is hard to believe, but Austin and I just celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. We went to dinner (the Keg) and a movie (Harry Potter and the half-blood Prince), nothing to fancy as we will be going to Hawaii in November! Since I use the blog as a record of events I wanted to write some of our story down.
We meet at WSU at a Superbowl party in January of 97 and didn't start dating until the fall, September 97. I graduated from WSU in December of 97 and went back to walk with Austin when he graduated in May of 98. I moved to Oregon to start my Masters program at Lewis & Clark (6/98) and Austin followed to start his at Portland State (9/98). We dated for a year and 9 months and then became engaged in July of 98 and were married on July 24th 1999. Our first year of marriage we lived in an apartment in Tualitin Oregon. Austin finished up his Masters and I worked for the ESD as an Itinerant teacher of the Deaf. We moved back to Wa-Puyallup in the summer of 2000.
We bought our first house, Austin had a job with Rosewater that never happened instead he went to work for Barghausen and I worked for Puyallup. We had two dogs and too many changes in cars- Honda CRV to Jeep, VW Bug to Subaru to Chevy Truck, and then Jeep to Acura and Chevy to Dodge! Austin changed jobs to work at Parametrix, we moved to our current home and then the babies came! Kendall was born in 2003, Logan in 2005 and finally Avery in 2008. Lots of changes in jobs, cars and houses- all material things- some for the better and some not, but in the end family life is the greatest! Here's to 40 more years of changes and more importantly staying and growing together! Love ya hun!

Cheer Camp 09

All week Kendall has been going to cheer camp down at Puyallup Parks and Rec, it was put on in collaboration with the Puyallup High School Cheerleaders. It was really a great experience for her. She loved meeting all the cheerleaders. Everyday they learned a new cheer, played games, learned jumps, learned a dance and even did a pyramid. She recieved a shirt, pom-poms, a bracelet and a certificate for participating. Today they put on a show for the families and it was too cute. Hope you enjoy! I have a feeling she will be asking to do this camp again next year!

Hard to believe so much of the summer is over already, but we are doing our best to enjoy the time off and beautiful weather! We spent this last week getting ready to head out on our first camping trip of the season! We tried to go bowling with the Cypher's but that didn't work out as they were full but we made the most of it by heading to the park. We had planned on going to Wild Waves too, but daddy was home later than he thought he would be and Wild Waves closes at 7pm on the weekdays so just didn't have the time. Well the big news of the week was my phone call from the pediatrician who shared with me that Avery is allergic to Peanuts, Eggs, Soy, dogs and cats!! Seriously!!!Apparrently part of God's plan for me is to be the spokesperson for food allergies as I now have two out of three kids with them and I get to pack at least 3 epi-pens and Benedryl with me all the time! Crazy! At Avery's one year well baby we decided to have some blood taken just to be on the safe side since the MMR shot is Egg based and Logan is allergic to eggs. Not the results I was hopping for, but at least I know where we go from here.
Then it was Friday and time to head to Mossyrock! We joined the Earle's, Cypher's and Marecle's for the trip. That came to a total of 8 adults, 12 kids and 6 dogs. It was a great time, of course with the occasional set back. We arrived to the only campspot covered in Peanuts! The previous people had been eating them around the fire pit and the shells and nuts were every where. Thankfully the playground and most of our friends were already set up that the kids just played while I cleaned up the nuts! Camp went up pretty quick the first time around and from then on out it was campfires, playgrounds, beach time, boating and spending some great time with friends. It is great to see all the kids personalities come out and they all really do get a long well. Kendall's favorite part was going tubing in the Earle's boat and Logan said "his favorite was playing with the yellow sword!"- Thanks Jaden! Of course there is always something that happens- the dogs destroyed the screen on the door when they unzipped there kennel while we were at the beach and then when we cleaning up Avery tumbled out of the trailor scaring me half to death! All in all it was a successful maiden voyage and we are even more excited now to head to Banks Lake next! Happy Summer and thanks to all for the wonderful camping memories and let's do it again soon!
