So Cal Vaca Day 7 Disney

Day 7 of our trip to sunny southern California was pretty warm, somewhere around 92 degrees.  We started the day in Disney where we tried on several more hats before the kids decided on getting visors!  We then headed to the California park to finish up some rides and hit the Disney Playhouse Live show.  We ate tons that day and Avery found the Minnie Mouse she could not live with out.  It was perfect for her since it is a Minnie dressed up as Tinkerbell-Perfect.  After lots of treats, shows and rides we had done everything in California and the kids were dying for the pool so we spent the rest of the day in the pools!  Logan and Avery hung out with Dad in the kiddie pool and I watched Kendall swim in the deeper pool.

So Cal Day 6 Disney

Well Sunday was our second day at Disney and I had planned a character breakfast to start things off. We ate at Minnie's Breakfast in the Park and saw lots of cool characters.  Since we finished breakfast about the same time the park opened we headed straight to Pixie Hollow to see Tinkerbell which normally had a huge line, but this time we only waited about 25 minutes.  We had to see Avery's favorite Tinkerbell! Then Austin and Kendall headed to the bobsled ride while I took A and L to get in line for the princesses.  The line moved faster than I thought so Kendall missed seeing Belle, but she was able to see Ariel and Tiana.  We then headed to California since it doesn't open til 10am we were there when it opened and spent the day with rides, parades and puddle parks! We were able to take another picture with Mickey which made me happy since we were all wearing our personalized shirts!  We also started our tradition of trying on all the different ears and hats!  At the end of the day we were watching a show and this man just kept staring at me! I was polite mad eye contact and smiled, but then the next time I looked up at him I started to get self conscious because he was looking at me and laughing then I realized Logan had moved from sitting on my lap to laying on the nasty floor almost asleep using me as a pillow- ok time to go!

So Cal day 5 Disneyland

Saturday was our first day of  Disney and because it was so crazy busy and honestly we were tired we took it a little easy.  We were there when the gates opened at 8am and headed to Fantasyland! We did all the rides there-Dumbo, Teacups, Canal Boats, Carousel etc. then we headed to Toontown.  I had made the kids autograph books so they were on the hunt for characters and we found them in Toontown and scored big with Mickey! Normally there is a huge line to see Mickey, but because there was not a big line people thought he was not there, so after making our way through his house we walked right up to him! Yeah which was great considering, we had just waited 20 minutes for Minnie-one of Avery's favorites. We did the rides there too and then headed to Jedi Training! Jedi Training was something I knew Logan would love, but didn't say too much about it since they pick kids from the audience at random and I had no control over weather either one of them would be picked.  We were there early and in the front row and thankfully they were both picked and loved it!  There is video in the slide show.  After Jedi Training we headed to Critter Country for sometime with pooh.  We meet Pooh and Rabbit, but at this point  I was starting to  feel claustrophobic with the mobs of people so we headed to lunch and back to the hotel for some pool time.   Avery took a 3 hour nap while the kids and I were in the pool! We still did quite a bit and had 4 more days to go!

So Cal Vaca 2010 Day 4

Day 4 of our vacation was spent at SeaWorld finishing up what we had not seen yet.  We pretty much saved the best for last! The weather was really not that warm the whole time we were in San Diego, it was about 75, but not really swimming per say weather.  Austin and I decided to split going on the water rides so he got the shipwreck falls and I chose Atlantis, as you will see by pictures I did better on the deal :0)  So we started the day with shipwreck falls since there was no line.  We hit the tide pool pond and manta rays again as the kids just loved them and then it was time for what I was waiting for--dolphins!  We had to get in line right away as they only take so many people and you pay 6 bucks a person, but you get to feed the dolphins with a personal trainer there to tell you about them-Loved It!!  Then we hit the Shamu show-Believe, and it was great!  We then finished up with the Atlantis ride and just going through the things we had already seen but really enjoyed. We even poped in on a show about pets called Pets Rule-super cute. We finished up SeaWorld with some shopping, Logan bought his Shark and Avery her Shamu, but Kendall still was not parting with her money!  She bought a 4 dollar mood necklace and figures at Legoland and I thought she would buy the SeaWorld Barbie, but she decided that 30 dollars was way to much, too funny when she is spending her money she is a miser!  It was really fun to see the kids think so hard about their purchases.  At any rate SeaWorld was a wonderful time, but it was time to head to the happiest place on earth! So off we headed to Anaheim, it took a good 2 and a half hours, but we arrived and our hotel was nice! We ate dinner and then spent a couple of hours in the Downtown Disney area.

So Cal Vaca 2010 Day 3

Ok, so we made it to day 3 and this was the day Logan was waiting for!  We headed to Legoland! Since Legoland was only a 20 minute drive and it did not open until 10am we were able to sleep in a little and rest up!  Truth be told I think I was as excited as Logan was to see the Lego creations!  We were there when it opened and although there are 3 parks- an aquarium, traditional Legoland and the new waterpark, we decided to just do the traditional Legoland.  The weather was not quit warm enough for the waterpark and we had seen so much when it came to sea life between the zoo and SeaWorld we just wanted legos and rides!  There are sculptures all throughout the park and by far Logan's favorite's were the star wars ones!  It was pretty busy so the lines where long, but because it is not that big we were able to do everything in a day.  The kids even watched a performance by the "Jump itz", they are the up and coming American version of the Wiggles.  The only down side to Legoland was that there was not as much for Avery to do, but she still had a good time.  Kendall and Logan built cars and raced them in one room of Legoland and Avery was able to play in the Duplo designed room.  We left mid-day for lunch outside of the park and to my surprise there was an outlet mall across the street with a Joe's Jeans outlet!  Score for me :0)  Logan spent over half his souvenir money at Legoland which I expected to have happened, but was hoping he would listen to reason so that melt downs didn't occur when hit the magical land of Disney. He and Kendall were able to built their own Lego characters for ten bucks and he bought a star wars kit and of course some swords! The highlight of the trip for Logan and Avery was them being picked for a show-it was soooo cute! The video is in the slideshow.  Logan had a sword fight and Avery was picked as a princess to judge the fights! She actually sat on stage for the whole 10 minutes in costume and all! Afterwards she had to buy a cool princess sword to play with.  Kendall loved the driving school where she learned to drive the car by herself and even has a license to prove it!  Legoland was a blast!

So Cal Day 2

For our second day in San Diego we headed to the San Diego Zoo!  We were there right when the zoo open, and started the day with the bus tour.  The bus tour was really cool, it is a double decker bus and we sat on top, so we had a great view.  The tour covers 70% of the zoo and most of the animals were out so we felt like we accomplished a lot!  After the bus tour, we headed out to see the Pandas!  The San Diego Zoo is world renowned for it's Pandas and it can get really busy in their area because the amount of people who can come see them at one time is limited, because the Pandas are really bothered by noise.  We were lucky enough to walk right in! I asked the kids if there was an animal they really wanted to see? Logan wanted to see the snakes, Kendall wanted to see the Koalas and Avery wanted the monkeys.  We walk around the zoo, checking out all the animals, making sure we hit the kids requests. We did the play area and petting zoo too. We took the sky ride-Logan was terrified!  We stopped for lunch and the kids kept asking if we were going to SeaWorld?  The zoo was not as big of a hit as I thought it would be-guess we have created ride junkies and since the zoo lacked rides and we had seen all the animals it was time to go!  We left around 2:30 and headed to SeaWorld to finish up the night!
At SeaWorld we did a couple of rides and headed to the seal show!  It was super cute and the kids loved it! We did a few more exhibits too-starfish, manta ray, and the sea turtles.  Then we headed back to the hotel to rest up for Day 3!

So Cal Vaca 2010 Day 1

August 10th- August 18th the Fisher clan descended on Southern California for an amazing vacation!  Since I take a ton of pictures I am breaking things up by the day and this will help me later remember for my scrapbook pages :0)  That said here we go!
Day 1- August 10th 2010
We flew into San Diego around noon, the kids did great and traveling was better than I thought it would be.  We had 2 bags that we checked, 4 carry-ons, 3 car seats, and one stroller, Austin did great balancing everything on the cart!
We road the bus to pick up our rental car- the kids loved the bus ride!  We got a mini-van and the kids were disappointed to find out it did not have a DVD player since all the commercials on tv show mini-vans with DVD  players so all of them must come with a DVD player.  Those ad makers are doing a great job!
The van was loaded and off to the hotel we went.  We were a little disappointed in our hotel to be nice.  The staff was rude, and despite me telling them daily there were 5 people in the room we still had to ask for towels everyday and their idea of a suite is a joke!  It was basically a small hotel room with a partition sticking out of the wall.  Anyways, we were only a mile from the beach and Sea World and the first stop was Mission Beach!  We checked it out for a couple of hours and then headed to Sea world for the evening.  We did some rides, the blue horizons show and some of the exhibits.  We even saw the fireworks that night from our hotel room.  So day 1 was a great success!
